The incident, which was caught on video on their instagram account https://instagram.com/jayandjoss/, reveals a nail-biting moment when Jay, balancing precariously on a sword as part of a routine, suddenly lost his grip and plummeted face-first to the floor, rendering him unconscious.

The accident occurred during a rehearsal at a studio space, where the duo was polishing their act. While performing the sword illusion, Jay was set to balance on a sword held by Joss, who would then spin him around. But, in a split-second mishap, Jay slipped, fell to the ground, and knocked himself unconscious. The video, showing Joss and three crew members rushing to Jays side, captures the immediate aftermath, including Jays groggy attempts to regain consciousness, clearly concussed.

It was horrendous, Joss shared. Weve done this routine hundreds of times, and in one instant, everything changed. I was so worried about Jay we had to end the rehearsal abruptly and rushed him to A&E. Despite the accident, which left Jay with a painful black eye and bruised back, the duo remained resolute, with Jay insisting on performing the same illusion at the upcoming competition.

The Magic Circle event, held at Londons Clapham Grand, drew a packed audience, including celebrities such as Debbie McGee, Derren Brown, Tony Adams, Jim Carter, and Professor Jonathan Shalit OBE.
