As the most important fundraiser of the year for the Hammond Branch, the 2024 Freedom Luncheon promises an afternoon filled with inspiration, entertainment, and recognition of community leaders. This year's keynote speaker is Shontrai D. Irving, President of the Indiana Lake County Bar Association. Irving, a clinical associate professor of business law at Purdue University, also serves on the Law School's Black Law Students Association Alumni Advisory Board. His extensive experience and commitment to justice and education make him a compelling voice for this event.

Brian Jackson, a distinguished Morning Show News Anchor at Fox 32 in Chicago, will emcee the luncheon. A Chicago native and Howard University alumnus, Jackson brings a wealth of experience and a dynamic presence to the event.

The legendary Billy Shelton and the Spaniels, renowned for their classic hit "Goodnight, Sweetheart," will provide musical entertainment, adding a nostalgic and celebratory atmosphere to the luncheon.
