2025 Binhai Talent Innovation - Entrepreneurship Competition Asia-Pacific (Singapore) Finals Held Successfully.


Singapore, Singapore Jul 2, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - On June 29th, the Asia-Pacific Region Finals of the 2025 Binhai Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition · Overseas Talent Competition were successfully held in Singapore. Song Zhe, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Tianjin Binhai New Area Committee and Director of the Organization Department of the CPC Tianjin Binhai New Area Committee, and Jin Hui, Chairman of Zhejiang Saichuang Weilai Venture Capital Management Co., Ltd., attended and delivered speeches. Li Guosheng, President of the Singapore Zhejiang Business Association and Chairman of Singapore Haolicheng Capital Pte. Ltd.; Xue Bin, Senior Vice President of Zhejiang Saichuang Weilai Venture Capital Management Co., Ltd., and representatives from the Chinese Scholars and Students Association in Singapore attended the event.

The competition was hosted by Tianjin Binhai New Area, organized by Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech Area, executed by Zhejiang Saichuang Weilai Venture Capital Investment Management Co., Ltd., co-organized by the Saichuang Weilai Singapore Representative Office, and received support from the Chinese Scholars and Students Association in Singapore.

In the speech, Song Zhe stated that the connection between Binhai New Area and Singapore has long taken root in the fertile ground of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City. The decision to upgrade this competition to the Asia-Pacific Region level stems from recognizing Singapore's strategic advantage in connecting ASEAN and radiating influence across the Asia-Pacific. "We look forward to using this competition as a link to create a 'double-helix' effect between Binhai New Area's industrial potential and the innovative energy of Asia-Pacific talent, jointly tackling global challenges in frontier fields," Song said. He emphasized that Binhai New Area is seizing opportunities to lay out new development tracks and now, more than ever, needs Asia-Pacific talents who "bring technology, projects, and dreams." He expressed hope that this offline final would mark the starting point for talent cooperation between Binhai New Area and countries across the Asia-Pacific, envisioning this collaboration flowing continuously and bearing abundant fruit, "like the Merlion fountain in the Lion City."

Jin Hui stated that as a scientific and technological innovation partner of Tianjin Binhai New Area, Saichuang Weilai has solicited 162 high-quality projects globally, aligned with the Binhai New Area's industrial needs. Among these, 29 shortlisted projects have received Seed to Series B funding, demonstrating significant industrial potential. Leveraging the Saichuang Weilai (Tianjin) International Talent Innovation Center established this past May, a professional team has been formed to create efficient landing channels, committed to supporting talent through solid services to realize their potential.

As the second sub-regional final of the Overseas Talent Competition, the 14 shortlisted projects possess substantial "value and talent density." Core team members hold Master's degrees or higher in over 83% of cases, with most graduating from globally renowned institutions like the National University of Singapore, Harvard University, and MIT. The projects cover cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and new energy/new materials. Notably, several are mature projects generating revenues in the tens of millions of RMB and enjoying strong market favor. These projects generally feature high technological barriers and broad industrialization prospects, aligning closely with Tianjin Binhai New Area's key development directions and industrial upgrading needs.

To ensure the competition's professionalism and fairness, the final featured a specially invited Judging Committee comprising technical experts, renowned entrepreneurs, and investors from institutions including InnoSpring Incubator, Rain Tree Partners, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) - Institute of High Performance Computing, and MediaTek. On-site experts rigorously evaluated the projects across multiple dimensions such as team background, core product advantages, project feasibility, industrialization prospects, and implementation plans. Through Q&A sessions and on-site communication, they also provided valuable business development advice to the roadshow projects.

During the event, the Saichuang Weilai (Tianjin) International Talent Innovation Center signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Chinese Scholars and Students Association in Singapore. Both parties will deepen cooperation in areas like high-level talent exchange and cultivation, and the transfer and transformation of cutting-edge technologies. This collaboration aims to jointly build a bridge connecting Singapore-China tech talent and projects, accelerating the transformation and implementation of more innovative achievements in Tianjin Binhai New Area.
